Lidl’s Chicken Egg Rolls

Who doesn’t love a good crispy egg roll once in a while? Deep fried crunchy goodness wrapped up in a hot and crispy wonton wrapper. Read on for our exclusive cart rating!

What are Lidl’s Chicken Egg Rolls?

These Chicken Egg Rolls from Lidl are exactly what you’d expect. They have those classic Asian style vegetables that are typically found in egg rolls like cabbage, onions, carrots, celery and white meat chicken.

It’s all wrapped up in a traditional egg wonton wrapper. They also come with a sweet chili sauce packet to dip them in!

The egg rolls come four per package, and the serving size is one egg roll.

They were almost the same size as traditional egg rolls you would get at a Chinese restaurant, just a little bit smaller. Even though they were a bit smaller, they were the perfect size for a quick snack.

Where In the Store?

I found these Chicken Egg Rolls in the frozen section of my local Lidl amongst the other Asian dishes they offer.

Lidl offers a few other frozen egg rolls including Pork Egg Rolls and Mini Vegetable Egg Rolls.

How to Serve Lidl’s Chicken Egg Rolls

The package gives instructions on how to bake these for both a traditional oven and a toaster oven.

I chose to use my air fryer. I assume now-a-days most households have some type or air fryer or combination of a toaster oven and air fryer.

I baked them for about 8 minutes at 400F degrees. I eagerly cut one open to check if they were done, but they were still slightly frozen in the middle. I put the egg rolls back in the air fryer for another 4 minutes and turned the temperature down to 350F degrees so they didn’t burn.

I should have defrosted them in the microwave first, like the back of the package suggests. Oops! I was hungry and in a hurry, no time for a microwave!

When they were finished, I removed them from the air fryer and cut them in half on a bias. We enjoyed them with Trader Joe’s Gyoza Dipping Sauce instead of the sweet chili sauce packet that was included.

These would be great served as an appetizer along with Gyoza, Potstickers or Wontons with a few different sauces to dip! Here are a few suggestions:

The Review

My Mom and I loved them! They came out nice and crispy and were pretty flavorful for a frozen egg roll. They were filled with crunchy vegetables and pieces of white meat chicken.

I was very surprised at how crispy the wonton wrapper got in the air fryer. It was flaky and held together very well

It was the perfect size to accompany a main dish for lunch or dinner. I loved the size for a snack, but to just have one for an actual meal probably wouldn’t be enough for someone.

Buy It Again?

I will definitely buy these again, and now I’m eager to try the other flavors Lidl offers.

Don’t skip these egg rolls on your next trip to Lidl! They are worth the try! Have you tried these yet or another flavor? Let us know what you thought of them, comment below!

The only reason I gave these 4 carts instead of 5 was because I wished they were a little bit bigger, and had slightly more filling in them! Other than that, I totally loved them!
