What’s better than combining a cookie and a brownie into….a BLONDIE?? Well, Trader Joe’s has outdone themselves again with this one!
If you’re a lover of either one of those tasty treats, keep reading to see our exclusive cart review and much more!
What is Trader Joe’s Blondie Bar Baking Mix?
The mix comes pre-measured in a plastic pouch, with chocolate chips mixed in. If you bake it in the recommended pan, you can get roughly 14 servings out of this mix!
Although blondies have many similar ingredients as brownies, they are a bit different. Blondies by nature are softer than cookies, but tougher than a cake. Both delicious desserts are baked, cut and presented in the same manner.
Blondies are like if a chocolate chip cookie and a brownie had a baby. It’s the texture of a brownie, but the flavor profile of a chocolate chip cookie. They’re not overly sweet like a brownie, but just right with the brown sugar notes and chocolate chips.
I feel like blondies are the perfect dessert to bring to a party or to put out for guests after a meal. You really get the best of both words with this delicious treat!
This mix only requires two additional ingredients in order for it to come together! As the picture above shows, it’s one egg, and about 1/2 cup of melted butter!
Where In the Store?
This delicious mix can be located in the aisle with everything else baking that Trader Joe’s offers! The baking aisle is one of my favorite aisles to venture down at Trader Joe’s. I feel like they always have something new and fun to try, and if not, there’s always something there that I haven’t tried yet.
Some other fun sweet baked goods found at Trader Joe’s are that we’ve reviewed for you are:
- Vanilla Baton Wafer Cookies
- Chocolatey Chip Cookie Dunkers
- Chocolate and Peanut Butter Joe-Joe’s
- Almond Windmill Cookies
- Meyer Lemon Cake Mix with Lemon Icing (SEASONAL)
How to Serve Trader Joe’s Blondie Bar Baking Mix
Trader Joe’s Blondie Bar Baking Mix is literally one of the easiest desserts you can throw together, especially if you have surprise company pop over!
I ALWAYS keep a box of this mix, and their Brownie Mix on hand, because again, it’s just SO easy to make. The only hard part is waiting for it to bake and cool so you can enjoy them! They usually don’t last very long in our house, we have as you might say, “Cookie Monsters” that live here!
I bake my blondies in an 8X13 glass pan lined with parchment paper because it’s so much easier to get them out of the pan. It’s easier to cut them into squares on the parchment paper, and way less mess.
Bake for the recommended amount of time, take them out of the oven and let them cool on a cooling rack. Cut them into your desired shape and enjoy them hot or let them cool, they’re delicious either way!
Now, of course if you’ve been a reader for some time now, you’ll know that I love a cold glass of milk with most of my baked goods. These blondies are no different. You can also enjoy these with your favorite hot tea, or a fresh piping hot cup of coffee.
When I get my hands on another box of this blondie mix, I’m going to bake some pretzels into the batter and maybe throw in a handful (or two) of the SEASONAL Caramel Sea Salt Baking Chips!! A review on those to come soon so stay tuned!
You could also dollop a scoop of your favorite ice cream to make an ultimate ice cream sandwich between two blondies!! YUM. Peanuts! For Chocolate Ice Cream, or Wildberry Cheesecake Ice Cream would be a phenomenal choice!
I love putting these out for a crowd because they’re such a cross between a chocolate chip cookie and a brownie. I don’t think I’ve come across a person who didn’t like either of those. So in my opinion, they’re a safe bet for a crowd pleasing dessert!
This baking mix was one of the very first mixes I tried out at Trader Joe’s and I was blown away. I’ve been buying this blondie mix for years now and I always have one in my pantry ready to be baked!
I tired this mix before their Brownie Mix, because I have to say, I think I’m more of a blondie fan. I instantly fell in love with these, and so did all of my company who I put them out for.
I’ve also tried the Meyer Lemon Cake Mix with Lemon Icing, and that was totally delish as well. Unfortunately, that one was a summer seasonal item, and was only on shelves for about a month! Let’s all cross our fingers it’ll come back next summer, I have a feeling it will!
These blondies are soft, chewy and oh so tasty. I cannot urge you enough to go out and give these blondies a try. They are the perfect ending to a wonderful meal, or a mid day grab and go snack. They also freeze very well, so, if for some reason you can’t finish these, stick them in the freezer for another time!
Buy It Again?
On my next trip to Trader Joe’s I have to buy myself another box, because I’m just realizing I used my last back up box!! *Let the panic set in.* Just kidding, but I will definitely be buying another box of this mix.
In my “on deck circle” to bake I have a fun seasonal pumpkin baking mix to review for you! Stay tuned for which one that is, and while you’re waiting for that review, run to Trader Joe’s and grab yourself a box of this Blondie Baking Mix!!
Lucky for us, this item isn’t seasonal, so we can enjoy these all year round!
