Trader Joe’s Cauliflower Thins (NEW ITEM!!)

Cauliflower crust lovers and all those who are Gluten Free can rejoice in finding another new product from Trader Joe’s.

What are Trader Joe’s Cauliflower Thins?

Cauliflower has become quite the hit with all those who are Gluten Free, and for those wanting to cut back on those carbs. It’s just so versatile.

These Cauliflower Thins are made from over 60% cauliflower, whole liquid eggs, parmesan cheese, deactivated yeast and a few other ingredients.

On the back of the package Trader Joe’s gives some examples on how to use this amazingly delicious bread substitute. And that’s exactly what I did, I made myself a mini pizza with it.

I feel as though using cauliflower in place of rice, or bread has really rose to its popularity in the last 10 years or so. Trader Joe’s was one of the first grocery stores I had seen with its Riced Cauliflower and Cauliflower Crust Pizzas.

Cauliflower is a cruciferous vegetable that is naturally high in fiber and B Vitamins. Fiber helps to enhance weight loss and aid in a healthier digestion. And, of course cauliflower is delicious.

Where In the Store?

I found these Cauliflower Thins in the cold section with some of the fresh prepared foods.

This little 4 pack of thins was near the wraps, burritos and sandwiches.

How to Serve Trader Joe’s Cauliflower Thins

So I grew up eating cauliflower in our house smothered in cheese sauce, because who doesn’t LOVE THAT. That was the only way for my mom to get two little kids and a husband, who basically hates all vegetables, (except the weird ones to us as kids then, like beets and asparagus) to eat cauliflower.

Now, being an adult and having full range of my grocery list and kitchen, I always get so excited to try out new cauliflower related items.

From the picture above, I took one of the thins out of the packaging and put it right into the air fryer at 400 degrees for about 4 minutes. I figured this would crisp up the crust just like a regular pizza crust before adding on all the toppings.

I added Lidl’s Tomato, Basil and Garlic Pasta Sauce to the top, added some shredded mozzarella cheese and topped it off with a few cherry tomatoes sliced in half.

I also added some Italian seasoning, salt and pepper, popped it back into the air fryer and baked it at 350 for about 6-7 minutes.

The Review

I would definitely recommend par-baking this little cauliflower thin before adding anything to it, whether that be sauce or cheese to maybe make a quesadilla. It helps the top and bottom to crisp up and helps to get that parmesan cheese nice and crunchy.

I absolutely loved these Cauliflower Thins. They were the perfect size to start, and the one I made tasted so so good. I could really taste the parmesan cheese which just enhanced the flavor of my mini pizza. These Cauliflower Thins provide all the structure and texture of a flatbread, but again, with only a fraction of the carbs.

From the picture below, I was trying to get a view of the crispy crust, and thats holding it above my phone (daring I know, I live on the wild side) with all of the toppings on it. The sauce, the cheese, the 3 cherry tomatoes and the seasoning. It held up VERY well.

I bet you can all hear that crispy crust just from that picture, my work here is done. *MIC DROP*

I have two of these Cauliflower Thins left in the fridge and I’m very eager to use them with something else, like a sandwich. I’d probably cut one in half and add some honey roasted turkey, crispy bacon, crunchy lettuce and a slice of a juicy Long Island ripened tomato.

I mean, I’m sure any type of sandwich would be DELISH between two pieces of these Cauliflower Thins. The perfect pairing for these sandwiches is obviously CHIPS. Lidl’s Dill Pickle Potato Chips or Trader Joe’s Chips in a Pickle (NEW ITEM!) would be a fantastic addition for some crunch, just what every sandwich needs!

Buy It Again?

I will 100% be buying these Cauliflower Thins again. I mean, there are only four in the package, and I blew through two of them pretty quickly!

On the back of the package Trader Joe’s gives some suggestions on how to eat these, and what to eat them with. One of the ways that totally threw me a curve ball was warming them up, either in the microwave, oven, or air fryer, and melting some butter and drizzling some maple syrup right over them! MIND BLOWN.

Maybe with my last Cauliflower Thin in the package I might have to give that recommendation a whirl, or a drizzle I should say!

Tell me that doesn’t look like the perfect little mini pizza?? And what’s great about these is that you can make them your own! Add your favorite toppings, bake away and ENJOY.

Let us know if you’ve ever tried these Cauliflower Thins and what you’re favorite thing to make with them is!!
