Trader Joe’s These Sprinkles Walk into a Sandwich Cookie

Hold on to your hats, friends! You’re in a for a doozy of a cookie here! Trader Joe’s These Sprinkles Walk into a Sandwich Cookie is a seasonal item that is BACK this spring!

What are Trader Joe’s These Sprinkles Walk into a Sandwich Cookie?

As you can probably tell, I’m pretty excited about these cookies!

Actually, I’m a big big fan of butter cookies in general and so Trader Joe’s played right to my soft spot when they recently put these sandwich cookies back on the shelves for another seasonal appearance.

Taking a page from the its own “This Fruit Walks into a Bar” cereal bar playbook, TJ’s stuffed some spunky sprinkles into butter cookies and the vanilla buttercream frosting that glues the cookies together into a sandwich cookie. And from what I’ve been seeing on social media, they’re becoming a fan favorite.

They’re a sweet treat that didn’t make it home from my shopping trip before I had the overwhelming urge to tear into them. Sorrynotsorry.

Where In the Store?

You can find these sprinkle-bomb sandwich cookies in the frozen aisle of Trader Joe’s nestled into the ever-growing cookie shelf. I found them in the Portland, ME store right next to the Joe-Joe cookies.

How to Serve These Butter Sandwich Cookies

To put it bluntly, there’s no BS happening with these cookies. Tear open the box and wrapper – whether it’s in your car, kitchen, office, or wherever – and go to town.

You’ll probably want some icy cold milk, piping hot coffee, or maybe an iced latte (my faaaave!) to go along with them since they’re pretty hefty cookies. So, make sure you’ve got a drink ready before opening that box!

The Dunk Test

Mariah and I have decided to make The Dunk Test a regular part of Two Cousins Haul It All when we review cookies and I’m thrilled to share my first Dunk Test with you!

The Dunk Test is Mariah’s ultra proprietary (kind of…) way to measure how well a cookie holds up to multiple dunks in either milk or coffee.

She has been using this method to test the quality of cookies for years with great results. The test is simple and straightforward: she dunks a cookie into a glass of milk 3 times and if the cookie crumbles into the milk, it’s a fail.

So, how did Trader Joe’s sprinkly sandwich cookies hold up?

THEY PASSED! Honestly, I expected that they would since they’re such a “beefy” cookie but you just never know! Three dunks into cold milk gave me 2 deliciously tender cookies that didn’t turn to mush and still retained their flavor. Yay!!

The Review

Oh these cookies! If I were talented enough to write a love poem to the These Sprinkles Walk into a Sandwich Cookie cookies, I totally would.

They’re buttery, sweet, adorable, and can actually pass for homemade cookies. Look, I’ve made a LOT of cookies in my life and calling these sandwich cookies close to homemade is really saying something!

Some reviews I’ve seen have likened them to birthday cake Oreo cookies and I just have to say that those reviews are waaaay off. These cookies are SO much better than those Oreos. The Oreos aren’t even in the same league as these cookies!

If I were to have anything to complain about here, it would be that there are only 6 sandwiches in a package. Womp womp! And at $2.99 for the package, they do run on the pricy side for Trader Joe’s cookies. Because of this, I felt I needed to take off 1/2 of a cart on my Rating.

Also, you should be warned about something important.

I’m pretty sure These Sprinkles Walk into a Sandwich Cookie are a seasonal product so they’ll be vanishing from the shelve pretty soon. Whhhhy does Trader Joe’s do this to us?!

Buy It Again?

Let me say that I’m totally bummed that I only bought 1 box of these cookies last week! But I’ll definitely pick up another box or 2 the next time I’m at Trader Joe’s if they still have them. Fingers crossed!!

As a speciality cookie, These Sprinkles Walk into a Sandwich Cookie are definitely worth the buy, if only to savor that tiny box of 6 cookies 1 at a time.

Rating Time!
